Hello [04 Apr 2008|12:45pm]

Hey, I'm a Storyteller from the Saint Cloud region in Minnesota. I'm a huge fan of White Wolf and all the game's they have released (at least the ones that I have played in or looked over, which is most of them). I started out my gaming experience playing VtM and have been in love with the games ever since then. I currently am running a Changeling game right now at my local game shop (paddysgameshoppe.com) and am always interested in doing something more. I'm also playing in a Mage game that a friend of mine is running, playing a Moros Sphinx named Anubis, its a lot of fun. If any of you are in the Saint Cloud or even Minnesota gaming area, please drop me a line sometime.

Anyone Awake here? [31 Mar 2008|03:58pm]

I'm looking to find myself an Online New WoD game (Preferably WtF) as I have a ton of books, but never get to play  (I usually get stuck GM'ing!)

Anyone know of any Chat games going on for WtF?

thanks in advance,

[ mood | pensive ]

I just joined this community, and it looks really cool. ^^

I'm Gregory/Artik, a V:tR ST for the better part, and player whenever possible. I play most the other White Wolf games, occasionally, but I've never enjoyed them quite so much as Vampire. Although, if you think you've got a game that I can join in, I'll be more than willing to take part.

I'll post some stuff to do with my chronicles and the like on here, if that's all kosher with the mods. Maybe you can give me pointers, and vice versa?

Oh! I also ST on a chat-game of WoD. With the mods' permission, I'd like to post an advertisment for it here? I already stickied one on the vampiretr  community, so if you're a member of that, take a look-see. I look forward to talking with you guys. : )

Just great... [27 Sep 2007|11:32pm]

I finally decided to get my own copy of Promethean to finish my collection of corebooks... I went to borders, payed for it, started reading like if it was the first time(I borrowed a copy a while ago when it came out)...and I have some blank pages!

Pages 66-67... 70-71... 74-75...and 78-79...

Seriously, is not THAT much, but still is part of my book :(. Well, I take it's pretty much my fault for having confidence in prints and borders so I didn't check in-store, I saw it was the only copy and I got it. But now I am on a dilemma here... Is not THAT easy to get copies of RP books here in Puerto Rico, and it was the only copy available for God knows how much time. Part of my wants to go there and complain, and make them get me a new copy, lol, and the other part just wants to shrug, get a friend's copy and scan them(that's legal right? I DO have the book...I'm just missing 8 pages..)

*sighs and smacks his head against keyboard*

Hey! [26 Sep 2007|11:28pm]

Heya, guys. =)

Don't slaughter me here, but I have a quick and simple question for you.

Just kidding.

But seriously, a friend and I have started an online chronicle for Vampire: the Requiem entitled Shadows of New York. We're still working out the kinks in the message board, but so far it's shaping up to be pretty awesome. However, we need players.

Modly Mod, with your permission I'd like to place an ad for the game here. Of course, if it's not okay, I'll vanish into the night. I'll put it behind a cut and everything. =)

Comment and let me know. ^_^

EDIT: The moment you've all been waiting for...More information on the game!Collapse )

The Mayfair grounds [19 Sep 2007|09:07am]

How did we end up here?
It was hard enough for a latin to live in the States... It is even more hard to be a Werewolf.
But hey! Things are improving aren't they? I mean... now I'm a Latin Werewolf on England, with a pack of "yanks"... Please, catch the irony, I don't feel like explaining.

The place isn't bad though, after all, Mayfair is among the most richest places to live, with the rents amongst the most high in London, let alone the world.

But the shadow... Oh,the Shadow... I never though I would find a place so tainted like this one. It's like... like... la misma Shadow estuviese nerviosa.

Heh, I better start scouting the area again, or Angela will start growling again. Catch' you later

*closes up the journal and puts it on the backpack after signing*

Lenny "Tear of Luna"

Bear with me, this character isn't the most focused nor brightest of the pack*laughs*

Tomorrow I'll start a chronicle I though my players forgot about it. It lasted a couple of sessions before my players couldn't keep the schedule, but hey, that's cool, they wanted me to take it back, so that makes me happy.

Question [14 Sep 2007|02:22pm]

I have tried with a few posts to give this a lil' life.*ponders* So maybe asking a question I'll get some activity.

Fetches... I know what they are, I know most of their characteristics. Now... can fetches have children of their own? Do the changeling he is impersonating gets sterile all suddenly? What are your thoughts on this?

I have my own, but I'll save them till we get a few answers ;)

World of Darkness: Changing Breeds [11 Sep 2007|10:37pm]

Alright, so I was surfing in Wikipedia, White-Wolf.com, and other sites... when something called my attention, a coming-soon book, but not any book... a Changing Breeds book.

I was looking for more information about it, nothing... Until I got this at Phil Brucato's journal.

I don't know if this is going to be a whole new concept, or if it's going to be Skinchangers 2.0, but this definitely made my day. I hope it makes yours too ;)

Create a... [11 Sep 2007|09:51pm]

Alright guys, I'm trying to give this community a little spark of life ;)

So, I'll start making this new session, it's called "Create a... [insert whatever comes to my mind on the moment of posting]"

This, will help us share a piece of creativity. Maybe we could even give away tips to balance whatever we have in mind.

This time... we will Create a Supernatural Item(Fetish/Token/ect).

Please, let us know what item it is, what spirit it has(if any) what it does, what would you like an item to do(ask for advice creating it). Just stay on-topic about the items and we will help you, praise you, and benefit from your creativity as well!

I know you all know this but... [10 Sep 2007|10:51pm]

This page is a must-have for everyone who is fan of any white-wolf game.

It has a collection of White Wolf avatars in PNG format, even with the sizes for some forums(like 100x100 for LJ).

Ian, you are my hero, period :)

Changeling the Lost [08 Sep 2007|09:41pm]

Yes, I am still alive(cheer if you like, boo if you don't ;)) and I just got my copy of Changeling.

I must say I am impress with what I have read so far, I mean, this is a Changeling game that fits a lot more into WoD than it's predecessor. Don't get me wrong, I liked The Dreaming, but I just didn't see the fit that much into oWoD.

I am going back to Storytell a chronicle(actually, continue it) of Werewolf the Forsaken, but I hope a few of my players get excited about changeling and I can get a small chronicle about them very soon.

I haven't read a lot, I got it a few hours ago, so anything you like and don't like would be quite welcome.

Buy these books! [12 Jun 2007|10:54am]

Having a cash crises presently, to the point of wondering if I'm really going to be able to make GenCon or, indeed, buy food this week (I mean, I'll be able to buy food, but even that's putting a strain on the purse). Numerous things contribute, but the long & short is, I'm reminding everybody about my Massive Freaking Book Sale.

I've added new World of Darkness books to the list, too, just in case you want to, like, have them autographed or something, I dunno. In any event, if any of the books on that list want to be in your hands, email me and let me know what you'd like to pay for them. I'll take checks/money orders, but I'd really prefer PayPal because I need the money now-ish.

The NWoD books I currently have for sale are:

Coteries (Vampire)
Bloodlines: The Legendary (Vampire)
Requiem Chronicler's Guide (Vampire)
World of Darkness: Ghost Stories
Reign of the Exarchs x2 (Mage)
Intruders: Encounters with the Abyss x2 (Mage)
Tome of the Mysteries (Mage)
Hunting Ground: The Rockies (Werewolf)
Magnum Opus (Promethean)
Saturnine Night x2 (Promethean)
Pandora's Book (Promethean)
Strange Alchemies (Promethean)

X-posted all over the damn place.

Promethean community? [28 Nov 2006|03:13pm]

[ mood | bored ]

Does anyone know if there's a Promethean: The Created community yet? Most of the other communities seem very silent right now, and I figured that one might be more...lively.

Wow, even I'm ashamed of that one.

[ mood | chipper ]

Hello everyone, just sending out a "Hello" and "how are you doing?" to anyone that cares. Just joined the community, but I've been following White-Wolf since I got snared by VtM:Redemption. I loved most of oWoD, but my current loves, in order, are: PtC,MtA,WtF,WoD, and VtR taking last.

Anyone who wants to discuss life, religion, games, problems, whatever, my IMs are always open.

Want to know more, go read my LJ. I'm going to try and get back into it after a very long hiatus.

Actual Play - All Cats are Gray [01 Aug 2006|03:13pm]

The Characters:

  • Liz Markham (Cypher): Mastigos of the Mysterium. A reclusive, somewhat agoraphobic mage who chooses to live in Cleveland as a solitary, collecting information on occult doings in the city and cataloging them against the inevitable return of the Awakened.
  • (noodlegirl's character, whose name I don't have because she took her sheet with her, but I believe her Shadow Name was Scully): Moros of the Mysterium. An investigator from the Erie, PA Consilium, assigned to find some of the mages of Cleveland and find out why they've been so coy the last few years.
  • Lydia Jackson: The Moros' Proximus bodyguard. Jealous of mages in general.
  • Kelly Clark: Thyrsus. An EMT who Awakened on the job and discovered she had a knack for healing people, but has no idea what really happened to her and hadn't met another mage until the game.
  • Thomas Quill: An ordinary man taking care of his four-month-old son while his wife is out of town. No supernatural experience or powers (apart from the Unseen Sense Merit).

The game was set in Cleveland. Now, regardless of what the werewolves and vampires of the Mistake by the Lake are up to, the mages are few and far between. There used to be a Consilium in Cleveland, but it hasn't existed in several years now. We the readers know that there's one cabal here (Untold Stories, Billy Pilgrim's cabal, based out of Strongsville), but that's all.

The game was set on 10/30/04. The last few months the SIDS rate has been abnormally high, something that Kelly has noted as an EMT. She noticed a touch of magic around the last unfortunate baby that was brought in, but had no other information.

As the game began, Lydia and the Moros were out tooling around looking for some clue as to where all the mages had gone. All of their leads had turned up nothing.

Meanwhile, Thomas went in to check on his son, and found a strange cat perched on the crib. As he watched, the cat's jaw unhinged and a fog-like mist rose up from the baby's mouth. Thomas launched himself across the room and tried to kick the fleeing cat, but missed (rolled a dramatic failure, in fact) and wrenched his hip. His son was breathing, but barely. He called 911 and the ambulance (containing Kelly) was en route. It nearly smashed into Lydia's car on the way (bad Drive rolls all around), and so the Moros followed the ambulance, needing something to do.

At the house, Kelly used her Life magic to scan and then heal the baby. He was physically fine, but when she first saw him he was dying, as though the life had just been sucked from his body. She saved him, and drove Thomas and the boy to the hospital. En route, Thomas told her what had happened (Thomas' Unseen Sense kicked on around this EMT). At the hospital, the doctor told Thomas that the baby would be fine, but he was staying overnight for observation.

Meanwhile, Cypher was online, as usual, and saw a friend of hers posting from work (an orderly at the hospital). In a flagrant violation of HIPPA law, the orderly told her about the cat story that he'd overheard. Cypher did some digging and found the old legends about cats sucking breath, but also noted that a nursing home nearby had lost five patients inside three nights not too long ago, and that the SIDS cases were largely confined to the western suburbs (Breckville, Broadview Heights, etc). She decided to track down this most recent victim and see what he knew.

The Moros and her bodyguard, by this time, had identified Kelly as a mage and approached her and Thomas. A lot of talking past one another followed, since Thomas and Kelly don't know "order" from a hole in the ground, but the gist of it was that the cat was probably still in the house and the mages wanted to catch it. They went back to the house and looked around, but found nothing.

Cypher left her house for the first time in a long while and, having tracked down Thomas' address (scary what you can do with the Internet), took a cab out there. She knocked on his door, he opened it, and just then the cat bolted.

The Moros managed to throw a towel over it and Lydia cracked it in the head with her baton, knocking it out. Thomas let Cypher in, and the characters puzzled over the cat. It was magical in some fashion, but not by any means that the Moros could identify. Cypher used Postcognition on the cat and saw it drinking breath from patients at the nursing home. She decided that she'd use the Finder spell on it, and then let it go, so they could track it to its master.

Doing that, they traced the cat to a house in the next suburb over. Using Scrying, Cypher saw the cat being stroked by an old lady. She told the cat not to worry, and opened a little box. The characters walked up the driveway, but saw a giant shadowy figure there. They felt dread creeping up their spines and, as a hundred cats watched from the shadows, did battle with that figure. In the end, the cats tried to attack Thomas, but Kelly put them to sleep with Life magic. Lydia kicked open the door, but the figure (a nightmare-spirit) pulled her into the room and started to strangle her. The other characters showed and engaged it, but eventually the only way to beat it was to stand up to it without fear.

Doing that, they searched the house and found the old woman. When they confronted her about the cat and the baby (and with guns), she started babbling in Latin. A hideous cat-like spirit materialized and attacked them, and probably would have killed them, but Lydia shot the old woman. Now on the verge of death, she lost her control over the spirit, and it sucked out her breath and vanished into the night.

The Moros masked her cause of death and the characters left. Thomas went back to the hospital, Kelly exchanged information with the Moros and Cypher, and Cypher took the old lady's books of spirit summoning into her progression. The Witchcats, according to her notes, would lose their powers gradually now. Also according to her books, she was looking for a way to grow young again - by making a giant Witchcat that could hold enough life to reverse the aging process.

I'd like to run more in Cleveland, I think. I've got some interesting ideas about the backstory and what happened to the Consilium.
